Jesus Christ the word made flesh wants to save you and change your life.
He died to pay the penalty for our sins. "Nothing happens until we accept
this gift," Bob says, "but when we do, we are cleansed, forgiven,
and eligible for the abundant life He came to give us (John 10:10) - not only
in Heaven later, but here on this earth now!" From the moment we accept
the gift of salvation, Jesus lives within us, changing us, energizing and empowering
us to fulfill God's purpose.
You are righteous in Jesus Christ. "We are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ and walk in His righteousness," Bob emphasizes. "By His blood we have been made sons of God." Because we were born with a sinful nature and separated from God, we had no sacrifice worthy to give to God.
When we accepted Jesus Christ as that perfect sacrifice, we no longer had to try to be good or acceptable to the Father, trusting our own worthiness. Chris as our Lord and Savior imparts to us His righteousness, so that as Jesus' goodness dwells within us we become all that God created us to be, all that we could never be by our own efforts.
You can stand on the authority of the Word of God because God and his Word are one. God is absolutely trustworthy; therefore, His Word is trustworthy. God's Word is the acid test for everything Bob Tilton believes and teaches. In fact, he holds that the Bible, the sacred Word of God, is a living book to be studied and practiced.
While it does give an historical account of the Judeo-Christian faith, it is more than a history book. Bob says, "It's God's Source book, the ultimate 'how to' book on living that every Christian should study and meditate upon, not just read, every day" (Joshua 1:8).
The words of the Bible have life and power in them because they carry the authority of God. You can depend on the authority of the Word of God because God and the Word are one. Bob Tilton teaches that when you put the Word of God to work in your life, you will learn now to deal wisely with every circumstance.
"We can live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God," Bob quotes Deuteronomy 8:3. "His Word is our authority for expectation. Better yet, Jesus, the living Word, resides within us and enables us to stand on the Word of God."
God is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Because we can depend on God, the Word of God is the solid ground of faith. Faith is also nourished by the Word and it is expressed in our actions. Bob says, "By standing on the Word of God, we can have the faith of God because He also depends upon His Word to accomplish His will. Faith determines the answers to prayers."
Robert Tilton believes in "mountain moving faith" (Matthew 17:20) which we get from knowing the Word, hearing it, speaking it, stand-ing on it, and acting on it. Bob exhorts us to ask, believ-ing that we receive, not trusting how we feel or think or even what we see.
"Those old demons of doubt and unbelief will come in and try to tell you God's promises are too good to be true," Bob says. "That's just another lie of the devil who doesn't want us to have anything." By not trusting appearances but believing and act-ing on faith, we shall have what we ask.
Faith is essential to answered prayer. Like James, Bob Tilton believes action is not just a proof of faith but that it puts" mus-cle" in it (James 2:20). Bob recommends vowing as one of the most effective faith builders. With a vow of faith, we enter into a personal covenant with God as Jacob did in the desert (Genesis 28:20) by promising to give into His Kingdom just as Jacob did, though he had nothing at the time. As we know, God brought him safely across the desert and made him rich so that he could pay the vow as promised. He will do the same for us.
God supplies all your needs according to his riches in glory. "God already knows what we need to live abundantly," Bob declares. "He has it already set aside for us. It's ours because He wants to bless us! All we have to do is ask Him in faith." This abundance includes spiritual blessings, physical healing, and material prosperity (III John 2).
We contribute to this supply when we worship Him with gifts. Bob refers to it as the principle of "seed time and harvest." God receives this gift, multiplies it, and gives it back to us. Our material gifts to God through your vows, tithes, and offerings is another way we demonstrate that God is first in our lives.
Through Jesus Christ, you have power over Satan. "The devil doesn't want you to have anything," Bob says. "But you have the authority of Jesus Christ to cast him out of your life." The devil likes to make us think that our lack or illness or unhappiness is God's will.
Satan is trying to constantly to regain control of the earth and he will stop at nothing in his attempt to steal, kill, and destroy you. But our obedience to God and faith in the power of Jesus defeats him utterly.
God loves you with an extravagant love. "That's what it's all about, folks!" Bob beams when he talks about how God loves us. "God created us for His pleasure and fellowship. He loves us so much that He gave us His Son. He could have kept Himself to Himself, but for us and our salvation, He cam down from Heaven and lived among us and died that we might have life and have it abundantly."
"When we have the knowledge of God's great love for us, and we, being made wise by the Holy Spirit, love God back, we will have that 'heart peace,' that peace of God which surpasses all our understand (Philippians 4:7). This peace which comes from the spiritual reality of God's eternal love sustains us and pulls us through the hard times.
"God's love, God's provision, God's power is sufficient to handle every
adversity, or evil that can come against us. So we don't have to worry about
how we're going to make it. God provides everything!"
